1st UPCYCLED ART FESTIVAL
Artists and innovators with the environment as their inspiration have gathered at Art Hub Liwa to participate in the Middle East’s inaugural UpCycled Art Festival. This is the first in an annual series of artist residency programs dedicated to the process of converting waste material and useless products into magnificent visual and functional art—all ecofriendly creations.
Under the banner theme of “Patterns of Unity”, the 100 plus original art pieces created at Art Hub Liwa for this occasion represent an exceptional coming together of science and art from the functional design of the equipment to the repurposed beauty of the resulting artwork. The wide range of materials utilized from metal and wood to paper and plastic are represent the industry’s upstream to downstream, from maintenance, the corporate office and a host of end products. Whether this body of work is placed in a corporate collection, made available to the public through Art Hub’s UAE Art Bank or housed in a museum, the artwork presents the oil and gas industries to the community in a whole new dimension.
